Bratton Estate & Elder Care Attorneys is pleased to partner with the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association for this event created for caregivers, family members, and professionals.

Meet Our Guest Speakers

Attorney Chris Bratton is a founding partner and the chair of the firm’s trusts, estates, elder law, and life care planning division. In addition to his legal counsel for clients on issues ranging from estate planning to veterans’ benefits, Mr. Bratton regularly speaks in person and on the air at venues throughout the Delaware Valley region.

Ms. Markel-Crozier is our firm’s Director of Care Coordination who helps clients and their loved ones enjoy the highest quality of life through carefully selected long-term care planning.

Mr. Bratton and Ms. Markel-Crozier will give two presentations on September 13 during the morning and mid-morning part of the all-day conference.

A brief description of both presentations is below.

Five Ways to Pay for Long-term Care

Government benefits such as Social Security and veterans’ benefits are usually insufficient to pay for the type of care that Alzheimer’s patients need. Mr. Bratton and Ms. Markel-Crozier will explain some of the eligibility and compliance guidelines that caregivers should know when planning long-term care arrangements, such as in-home care, nursing homes, and Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) and the ways to pay for care.

Guardianship and Power of Attorney

Many people confuse these two legal terms and the purposes they serve for protecting seniors’ assets, health, and quality of life. Mr. Bratton and Ms. Markel-Crozier will explain the difference between guardianship and power of attorney as they relate to Alzheimer’s patients.
