Jennifer Hand Attends Alzheimer’s Association Community Leaders Summit 2024

News

Bratton Law Group was proudly represented at the 2024 Alzheimer’s Association Community Leaders Summit by our Elder Care Coordinator, Jennifer Hand!

Each year, the Alzheimer’s Association hosts a Leadership Summit that brings together volunteers and staff from across the country to experience and be inspired by their shared vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. The Summit helps volunteers and staff develop a deeper understanding of the Associations’ leadership role in Alzheimer’s care, support, advocacy, and research and motivates them to play an even bigger role in delivering on the mission.

Jen’s involvement with the Alzheimer’s Association is as a Volunteer Community Educator. In this role, Jen’s goal is to provide education to caregivers and people living with Alzheimer’s or dementia while expanding the reach of Alzheimer’s Association programs to all communities.

Throughout the weekend, Jen attended a variety of educational sessions that focused on care, support, and development.

After the conference, Jen shared her experience with our team and had three key takeaways:

    1. One person’s voice CAN make a difference, so I will continue to share my story.
    2. Those living with the disease can’t take a day off, so neither can I as I advocate on behalf of those with the disease and their care partners.
    3. We are in the era of treatment. There is hope for a cure. In the face of fear, sadness and pain associated with this disease, people are amazingly caring and heroic. Through brave and honest story telling of real heroes, I am inspired to fight even harder to do more to make sure my future children and grandchildren will never have to face this disease!

We are so proud of Jen and all she has achieved in her role as a volunteer community educator!
