Bratton Law Lawyers Help Client Obtain SSDI & SSI Benefits in NJ and PA
If you are unable to work and earn a living due to illness, disability or injuries suffered in an accident, you may qualify for government benefits to help pay for medical bills, cost of living expenses and more.
To learn more about SSDI (Social Security Disability Income) and SSI (Social Security Income), we invite you to speak with the knowledgeable, experienced lawyers at Bratton Law. We will guide you through the application process and be by your side if you are denied benefits and want to appeal your claim.
What are SSDI & SSI?
If you’ve worked long enough and your disability qualifies, you will be entitled to a monthly income. The main requirement for SSDI and SSI qualification is that the disability must have prevented the applicant from working for a period of at least one year. If you qualify for SSDI, you may also be entitled to Medicare or Medicaid.
To qualify for SSDI, applicants must have worked for at least 10 years before becoming disabled/injured/sick. To qualify for SSI, applicants don’t need a long work history but they do need to meet low-income requirements.
How Do I Apply for SSDI or SSI in NJ and PA?
In order to be approved for SSDI or SSI benefits, you must apply. It’s important to note, however, that over 60 percent of first-time applicants are denied because the application is complex and often not filled out or submitted properly. Even when the application was submitted correctly, people can get turned down for these much-needed benefits. In either case, the appeals process can also be frustratingly complex.
The experienced lawyers at Bratton Law will help guide you through this process from beginning to end. We will review your case, including medical history, and draft your application in an effort to maximize your chances for success.
